An amazing Hannukia made of ceramic

Why should you buy a luxury Hannukia for Hannukah? When performing a mitzvah (good deed), a person must conduct himself in a dignified and proper manner, as stated in the Talmud (Sabbath 133: 72): “דתניא: זה אלי, ואנוהו – התנאה לפניו במצות מביאים” levels of decorating the ornate Hannukah candle stand:

  1. Gold
  2. Silver

This is also the opinion of Erudite Rabbi Jacob Joseph by which “gold” and “silver” include gold and silver plated items.

The Hannukia of the Rabbi of Slonim

The Rabbi of Slonim says that there is a special blessing to buying an ornate and fancy Hannukah’s Hannukia, to show the Lord that we are doing all that we can to honor the Lord.  Hannukah is not a holiday in the Torah and yet the Ramban wrote, in Baha’alotcha, “to kindle the lights of the menorah”, providing a hint to the Hasmonean candles, which are customary after the destruction.  This holiday, which illuminates the homes of Israel for eight days, is indeed not set by Torah, but it is deeply etched in the Jewish heart.

A relief of the Temple in Jerusalem

In this piece, the artist sculpted a 3D ceramic Hannukah menorah.  Seeing that the Hannukah miracle occurred in the Temple in Jerusalem, the front of the menorah displays a wonderful sculpture of the Western Wall, including it stones, openings and windows.  The other side of the menorah bears a relief of the Temple on the Temple Mount.  Prominent and etched decorations are exceptionally integrated into the sides of the menorah.  The artist created a pure gold and platinum plating of the decorations and candlesticks and when the menorah is lit, the candlelight twinkles brightly with gold and platinum specks.

The Hannukia of the Presidents

In his book of blessings, Rabbi Hida says: He who cries by the Hannukah candles to the extent that he no longer sees how many candles there are, his prayers will be answered.  Beyond the Mitzvah of exalting the Hannukah menorah, this creation will serve the next generations and its value will appreciate over the years like aged wine.  This Hannukah menorah was given to presidents and world leaders, including U.S. President Bill Clinton and Israel President Shimon Peres, and they are kept in the state’s treasures forever.
